Overview

In order to provide seamless connectivity to the outside world, 1 Gbps internet connectivity was operationalised through the National Knowledge Network (NKN) at our permanent campus. This 1 Gbps link acts as primary connectivity, where a 500 Mbps leased line through BSNL serves as a secondary ILL circuit. 

The institute has newly installed advanced servers of 2 X 12 core Intel XEON processor E5-2560 @ 2.2 GHz with 30 MB L3 cache, IQI 6.40 GT/s, 32 GB DDR4 2400 MHz, hot-plug SAS hard disk for running our own internal/external DNS, storage services, websites and personal homepages hosting services for academic staff.

A new Computer Lab with 50 high-end systems and a high-speed internet facility has been installed at the permanent campus. The Computer Lab is fully equipped with systems and the latest software with an environment to implement and experiment with knowledge acquired in the classroom. 

Our Computer Centre has ensured that every department/section has the internet connectivity through a fibre optic-based network, both in our permanent and transit campuses. 

Digital Library services with appropriate networking systems ensure access to the library services. The Computer Centre is in the process of providing a VPN facility to all the users of IISER Berhampur to access the digital library, as well as the Institute network from remote locations.

With the help of Google, the Institute Computer Centre provides an email facility with 30 GB of content storage space for each user of IISER Berhampur.
