VIRASAT 2026 to be held at IISER Berhampur from 13–18 January 2026

IISER Berhampur is pleased to announce VIRASAT 2026, a cultural celebration organised in collaboration with SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth), scheduled from 13 January to 18 January 2026.

The event aims to celebrate the timeless heritage of Indian classical arts and offers a unique opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to experience performances by distinguished artists, participate in hands-on workshops, and engage in cultural activities.

Key Highlights

1. 13 January 2026 (Evening | Amphitheatre): Santoor concert by Pt. Tarun Bhattacharya

2. 18 January 2026 (Evening | Amphitheatre):

   • Kathak performance by Vidushi Pallabi De & Team

   • Hindustani music performance by Vidushi Manjiri Kelkar & Team

3. Parallel Workshops (14–18 January 2026):
   Workshops for registered students in Hindustani Vocals, Kathak Dance, and Chhau Mask Making, to be conducted at Academic Block 6 & 5. Interested faculty and staff are encouraged to participate.

4. Additional cultural engagements such as Cinema Screening and a Heritage Walk will also be organised during the event.
