Quantum Mechanics for (in?) Chemistry: A Perspective in the 100 years of Quantum Mechanics
As we celebrate 100 years of Quantum Mechanics, the talk traces the origin of this ground breaking discovery, its metaphysical aspects and the relevance of quantum mechanics for chemistry. The talk will argue how important quantum mechanics has been at the length scale of chemical systems and discuss the evolution of quantum chemistry within one year through Heitler London work (1927) on chemical binding and other seminal discoveries.
